Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Finance Assistant to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will help manage the company’s day-to-day finance operations. You will play a key role in processing transactions and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, supporting the financial management of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices, card payments and other financial transactions
- Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts and reporting systems, resolving any discrepancies
- Prepare weekly payment runs and manage ad hoc payment requests
- Issue sales invoices and undertake regular credit control
- Manage the accounts inbox, dealing with queries promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Provide administrative support to the Finance Director as neede
Requirements
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Xero (or other accounting software)
- Meticulous attention to detail, capable of working accurately under pressure
- Highly organised, with good time management skills and the ability to multitask
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to liaise with a variety of stakeholders
- Comfortable asking questions and receiving guidance
- Confident learning and adapting to new system and technologies
