Job Description: Our client is on the hunt for a dynamic Assistant Ombud who will champion the cause of fairness in the financial sector. This role is not just a job; it's a calling for those passionate about making a difference in the world of finance and regulation.
Responsibilities:
- Employ your analytical prowess to dissect complex issues and chart a clear path to resolving complaints.
- Hone in on the crux of complaints, facilitating their resolution with finesse through mediation and conciliation.
- Craft impeccable recommendations and determinations to bring disputes to a close.
- Spearhead initiatives to streamline complaint handling, leveraging technology and innovative methods.
- Contribute to policy development and engage in public relations and staff management to enhance the office's impact.
- Generate informative circulars and manuals to educate and raise awareness within the industry.
- Provide astute legal opinions and liaise directly with tribunals on pertinent matters.
Requirements:
- Possess an LLB or BProc Degree, coupled with admission as an Attorney or Advocate.
- Bring at least 8 years of post-admission experience to the table.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the financial services regulatory landscape.
- Have a minimum of 5 years' experience within the financial services industry.
- Show proficiency in legal drafting, with the ability to adapt to legislative changes swiftly.
- Exhibit exceptional report writing skills.
- Multilingual abilities would be a significant plus.
