Job Purpose:

As an Accounts Controller, your primary responsibility is to manage and maintain a portfolio of client and/or reinsurer ledger accounts for a specific geography or region. You will ensure that balances are collected and paid in accordance with contractual requirements or pre-defined service standards. This role involves handling client monies securely, maintaining accurate records, and serving as the main point of contact for payment-related matters.

Responsibilities:


- Follow all processes meticulously to ensure the secure, efficient, and auditable handling of client monies.

- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of financial transactions.

- Act as the main point of contact for designated clients/reinsurers regarding payment matters.

- Service accounts to a high standard and within deadlines, ensuring timely collection and payment of monies due.

- Utilize management information (MI) to identify and resolve debtor-related issues.

- Review and reconcile cash transactions on a daily basis.

- Ensure compliance with internal accounting and settlement procedures as well as external regulations.

- Maintain ongoing relationships with assigned clients, reinsurers, and third parties.

- Escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders when necessary.

- Adhere to standardized group policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Manage workload and delivery expectations according to business requirements.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

Knowledge:

- Proficiency in computer usage with technological efficiency.

- Relevant experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry is advantageous.

- Awareness of basic accounting fundamentals such as debit/credit concepts.

Skills:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective business communication.

- Analytical skills, including attention to detail and interpretation of documents.

- Basic proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.

- Any relevant licenses or certificates would be beneficial.
