A Corporate Affairs Senior Manager is required to support the business strategies of the Macquarie Banking and Financial Services Group, which comprises Macquarie's retail banking and financial services businesses, through engagement with media and other external stakeholders on a 12-month parental cover contract.
Working in close collaboration with the Head of Corporate Affairs for Banking and Financial Services, this role is a key "go to" point for its three business divisions around their media and external communications requirements. In this role, you'll also responsible for working with the businesses to ensure the reputation of the Group is maintained.
In this hands-on role, you will be the day-to-day contact point for all Banking and Financial Services divisions on media and reputational matters whilst partnering with their business-aligned social media team. You will carry out proactive media relations to assist in the positioning and promotion of Banking and Financial Services and its businesses/products coupled with drafting written materials, including media releases, articles and Q&A documents. In addition, you will work on issues management activities where required and assist in managing any potential risks for among key stakeholder groups.
This role requires a strategic and hands-on approach to media and external communications activities, and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a busy team environment. Key to your success will be your proven communications experience in a similar role, ideally within financial services or professional services sector. You will have strong written and verbal communication and your attention to detail will be second to none. You will possess outstanding stakeholder management skills and maintain high levels of professionalism and diplomacy. In addition, you will have the ability to think and react quickly as the situation requires
