Take on a diverse role within our Financial Management Group and be responsible for Financial Control activities across the Macquarie Capital portfolio. You will have the chance to experience a diverse range of work in this role, working closely with transaction teams making principal investments and developing infrastructure and renewables projects within the investment banking business.
You can expect to be challenged in this role as you partner closely with the business and use your technical accounting knowledge to provide accounting support and reporting over new and existing deals and restructures. You'll also work on a wide variety of ad hoc projects, whilst continually identifying and actioning process improvement opportunities.
You will be joining a high performing team in a true business partnering role and will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the transaction life cycle, reporting and monitoring in addition to having portfolio level oversight and control focus.
As an experienced finance professional, you will be comfortable in a fast-paced and complex environment and be excited by change opportunities. You'll come from a varied background including audit, professional services, finance industry or another large-scale corporation. In addition to accounting and financial control experience, experience with process redesign, process optimisation and project analysis will be an asset. Further, your ability to think commercially and operate in a collaborative environment will also be pertinent to your success in this role.
You will use your business technical ability to provide in-depth accounting knowledge and experience to understand accounting treatments and communicate these with key stakeholders. You will need to leverage your strong communication skills in order to engage with a variety of stakeholders and to ensure a free flow of information between Sydney and offshore Financial Control teams.
You will also gain exposure to senior stakeholders, a deep insight into the balance sheet and the opportunity to have a commercial influence in your role.
A positive and resilient attitude and curious mindset, combined with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing deadlines, will allow you to succeed in this role. We would like you to be CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent) with proven post qualification experience and have technical accounting knowledge and advisory skills. Experience in financial services is highly advantageous and candidates from a chartered background are encouraged to apply.
