My client is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper who will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and reporting of financial statements, managing accounts payable, and maintaining accurate financial records.
The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.
This role is based in Braamfontein, Johannesburg Central.

This role is based in Braamfontein, Johannesburg Central.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Financial Management: Oversee the preparation and reporting of monthly financial statements.
- Accounts Management: Maintain accurate records, including accounts payable and general ledger entries, and process invoices, payments, and receipts promptly.
- Authorization & Reconciliations: Authorize daily POPs and payment requests, and perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Fixed Assets & Depreciation: Maintain the fixed assets register and process monthly depreciation entries.
- Financial Record Keeping: Implement and maintain both digital and physical filing systems, ensuring all financial records, including BBBEE, are up-to-date.
- Budget & Expense Management: Prepare departmental expense budgets, track actual expenses, and assist in budget and forecast preparation.
- Audit & Compliance: Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and support, and ensure compliance with accounting procedures.
- Payroll & Administrative Tasks: Prepare payroll reconciliations, handle filing, correspondence, and manage financial documents.
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
