QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Masters in Business Administration (MBA) essential or Post graduate qualifications in either Strategic Management & Leadership and/or Economics
- Development finance /Financial industry essential and overall business exposure
- At least 3 years in management consulting/ strategic planning & analysis
- Project Management will be an advantage
- At least three years strategic and business planning experience
- Development finance/ financial services experience
- Good knowledge of B-BBEE regulations and practice
- Research and statistics
- Strong appreciation of Economics
POSITION OUTPUT
- Manage all projects surrounding the strategic and business planning process, coordinating activities, collating and consolidating information and data from strategic conversations within the organization for inclusion in the strategic and business plans
- Conduct research on issues affecting the mandate of the Company. Ensure that strategy is based on sound research and analysis
- Keep abreast of regulatory, government policy etc developments that could impact how the company discharges its mandate. Educate/ inform the business in time of any such developments
- Manage the operational relationship between government stakeholders (DTI, National Treasury, Parliament, other government departments) and the company in respect of the above responsibilities
- Maintain and further develop a strategic planning framework, supported by a well-structured and coordinated process, that will ensure a disciplined way of organizational planning, that is aligned to DTI and National Treasury planning process and timing
- Responsible for the drafting, review and submission of the company's annual strategic and business plans
- Further develop, implement and maintain the performance monitoring, reporting and evaluation system for the company
- Build and maintains relationships with executives and senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure that the department is optimally staffed, and a succession plan is in place
- Ensure that the control environment in the department is effectively managed
- Work closely with the Chief Risk Officer in the identification and assessment of risks that could materially impact the strategic plans and sustainability of the company
- Develop frameworks for the successful completion of business information projects in close collaboration with the Manager - Information Systems and Technology
