About the department

You will be joining the Global Finance GBS Bangalore team, which was established in 2007. Our team is responsible for supporting Accounting, Finance & Procurement, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for Headquarters, North America, International Operations (IO), Product Supply & GBS Bangalore. Our main purpose is to provide superior service to our stakeholders consistently and add value to the processes in terms of standardization and efficiency.

The position

As an Associate Finance Controller(R&D Project Cost Controller) at Novo Nordisk, you will be responsible for:
  • Running relevant cost reports in SAP, extracting data to Excel, and updating cost controlling reports on a monthly/weekly basis along with collaborating with various stakeholders to drive the month-end closing process, including accruals and repostings.
  • Updating and maintaining cost controlling reports in Excel and Power BI and also tracking costs by collecting actuals and planned costs, as well as monitoring the P&L.
  • Conducting regular audits to verify the accuracy of expenses and invoices and also solve incorrect postings with other finance departments, especially on non-DK projects.
  • Conducting variance analysis to identify deviations and reporting findings to project managers and driving monthly or bi-weekly project cost controlling meetings with project managers.
  • Supporting project managers with budget management, WBS setup, and cost-controlling relevant presentations and also collaborating with other R&D Investments portfolio managers, R&ED Finance in GBS, and DK.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
  • Master's in Finance (or equivalent) from a well-recognized institute with good academic track record and grades.
  • Minimum 8 - 12 years of relevant work experience in finance domain including 3+ years in business partnering role (managing Cost controlling / Project Cost Controlling - cost base of 50 - 70 M USD / 500 + FTE's)
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with Project managers and management.
  • Experience in business controlling and other finance disciplines
  • Solid understanding within the field of accounting and finance
  • Proficient with PC-tools, extensive knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into meaningful insights
  • Pro-activeness and problem solver
  • Ability to handle and prioritise several tasks.
