Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a Staff Accountant for a homebuilder in Raleigh, NC. This role offers the opportunity to manage a broad range of accounting functions within a dynamic and growing company. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This is a full time, permanent position.
Responsibilities:
Manage accounts receivable and payable for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Review vendor aging statements against entered purchase orders/work orders and invoices to verify accuracy.
Perform monthly credit card and bank account reconciliations for approximately 50 accounts.
Serve as the administrator for fuel cards, managing distribution and usage.
Post cash receipts for construction draws and issue vendor payments accurately and timely.
Prepare and post journal entries; manage and maintain the general ledger.
Handle annual 1099 processing and IRS filing to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Act as the point of contact for audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Provide backup support for payroll functions when necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
2+ years of applicable accounting experience.
Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation.
