Senior Credit Controller

Reporting of the Role

This role reports to the Credit Manager

Overview of job

To support the National team along with managing selected specialist, barter and large agency accounts for Audio and Outdoor. Investigate queries and aim to reduce the level of overdue items while maximising cash flow. Hold regular meetings with the customers & commercial teams to resolve queries promptly, working together with them to simplify and improve processes.

In the first few months, you would have

• Become a key part in supporting the credit manager and colleagues by means of coaching, training and guidance,
• Built strong relationships with large customers and commercial teams helping to resolve queries and collect cash.
• Reduced the ageing and the volume of old invoices owed to the business.
• Held regular meetings with key contacts to ensure invoices are being processes and cash is paid.
• Implemented process improvements to enhance performance.

Responsibilities of the role

• Provide cover for the Credit Manager when required.
• Chase and maintain overdue invoices, logging and tracking queries through to resolution. Make sure notes are updated for all phone calls, promises.
• Supporting and mentoring team members in order release, new customer onboarding and query resolution.
• Provide key data for cash forecasting processes.
• Investigate and work to resolve queries.
• Ensure cash and credit notes are applied when received and raised so the accounts are up to date.
• Escalate and report non query resolution that may impact cash flow.
• Reviewing outstanding invoices and campaigns, checking booking and contracts so they can be paid on time.
• Checking invoices for commission errors before they are submitted each month to enable payment.

• 2-3 Years in a Credit Control / Accounts receivable role.
• Providing exceptional customer service.
• Enhancing relationships with both internal & external stakeholders.
• Show flexibility as required to achieve the best result for all parties.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Professional attitude towards problem solving.
