Reference: CPT000910-CL-2Our client, an accredited FSP within the long-term insurance sector, based in Pretoria East is hiring! They are looking to appoint a Licensed Key Individual (KI) on a one-day per week contractual basis. The plan is too convert the role to a permanent position after 12 months. The main purpose of this position is to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to oversee the operational aspects of the financial services and products offered in the long-term insurance sector.
Qualifications required:

Completed Degree in relevant field of study
RE1 examination completed

Skills and experience required:

Minimum of 1 years' management and oversight experience.
Experience in long-term insurance is a requirement for this role.
Short-term insurance experience is advantageous.
Proven leadership skills.
Attention to detail and analytical.

Job description:Regulatory Compliance Oversight:

Monitoring and Advising: The KI is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that the company complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and codes of conduct issued by regulatory bodies such as the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) in South Africa.
Policy Development: Developing and implementing policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Risk Management:

Risk Assessment: Conducting regular risk assessments to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks that could affect the company's operations or clients.
Internal Controls: Establishing and maintaining adequate internal controls to manage risks effectively and prevent regulatory breaches.

Governance and Oversight:

Board and Management Reporting: Providing regular reports to the board of directors and senior management on compliance issues, risks, and regulatory developments.
Training and Awareness: Ensuring that staff members are adequately trained and informed about regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.

Client Protection and Service Standards:

Client Interactions: Ensuring that the company maintains high standards of service and professionalism in all client interactions.
Complaints Handling: Overseeing the handling of client complaints and ensuring timely resolution in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Continuous Monitoring and Improvement:

Audit and Review: Conducting regular audits and reviews of the company's operations to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Adaptation to Regulatory Changes: Keeping abreast of changes in regulations and ensuring that the company adapts its policies and practices accordingly.

Ethical Conduct and Integrity:

Promoting Ethical Standards: Upholding high ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity and compliance throughout the organization.
Conflict of Interest Management: Managing and mitigating conflicts of interest that may arise within the company.

External Engagement:

Regulatory Relationships: Building and maintaining constructive relationships with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders.
Industry Representation: Representing the company in industry forums and discussions related to regulatory issues and compliance matters.
