We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join a team in Leicester. This role involves preparing financial documents, managing accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and committed to upholding the financial integrity of the business.
Day to day of the role:
- Prepare business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to understand the financial state of the business.
- Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the finance director.
- Oversee and manage individual accounts.
- Create, send, and follow up on invoices.
- Review and adhere to department budgets.
- Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets.
- Review and audit financial statements and reports, ensuring all calculations and data entries are correct.
- Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients.
- Report any troubling discoveries or suspicion of wrongdoing to the proper authorities.
- Collect information for and prepare payroll payments for employees.
- Assist the financial director in creating financial reports on a regular basis.
- Adhere to the company’s financial policies and procedures.
- Answer questions and provide assistance to stakeholders, customers, and clients as needed.
- Attend finance department and company-wide meetings, sometimes assisting with financial reporting to managers and senior executives.
- Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
