About this opportunity:
The Market Area Credit Manager oversees the Market Area (MA) Credit Management process, advising the MA Controller on customer credit limits and decisions on credit blocks, and implementing action plans to manage credit risks. The Market Area covers Soutth East Asia, Oceania and India,
What will you do:
- Credit Management: Establish and manage the credit management framework and risk management process.
- Advisory Role: Assist the MA Controller with credit limit changes and decisions on credit blocks.
- Awareness & Training: Educate relevant personnel about credit management and its impact on capital cost.
- Communication: Act as the main contact for the central Global Credit Control team.
- Risk Management: Influence and educate to address credit exposure, perform credit checks, manage credit blocks, and propose credit risk categories.
- Customer Management: Follow up on late-paying customers and implement corrective strategies to reduce credit exposure and AR due.
- Reporting & Meetings: Provide regular updates, represent MA in central review meetings, and establish review processes within MA.
Key Activities:
- Conduct external credit checks for new customers.
- Make decisions on maintaining or releasing credit blocks.
- Advise on improving/reducing credit exposure and credit limit changes.
- Ensure accountability within the customer unit.
- Support in customer discussions when needed.
The skills you bring:
- Academic background in finance.
- Minimum 5 years of credit management experience.
- Knowledge in payment default procedures.
- Leadership experience with strong interpersonal skills.
- Business understanding, especially in customer contracts and the telecommunications industry.
- Analytical skills to assess credit risk.
- Negotiation skills and understanding of political and economic environments.
- Proficiency in Excel and general IT knowledge.
- Good written English skills.
