Job Opportunity: Purchase Ledger Clerk (12 month FTC) at Suttons International

Suttons International, a family-owned global logistics business, seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our Widnes Head Office Depot.

The Role

As an International Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring day to day purchase ledger duties are performed to a high standard, reporting to the Purchase Ledger Team Leader.Ensuring invoices are entered on to the system quickly, accurately and efficiently to ensure we pay to agreed supplier commercial terms.

Key Accountabilities
  • Matching of freight and Maintenance invoices against relevant costs in RAM and Documation
  • Posting invoices directly to Sage where necessary
  • Liaising with various departments around the business to ensure completion of tasks when necessary
  • Accurate and timely processing of invoices
  • Provide support to the extended finance team
  • Accurate and timely fortnightly payment runs of multi-currencies
  • Looking at process improvements pro-actively
  • Building and keeping good relationships with suppliers
  • Ability to prioritise without close supervision
  • Ability to work independently and take accountability for own role
  • Statement reconciliations including liaising with suppliers and colleagues to clear queries
  • Preparing payments for suppliers
  • Ad-hoc duties
  • Housekeeping


Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of Suttons International limited or other logistics businesses (desirable)
  • Knowledge of RAM and Documation (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Sage X3 (desirable)
  • HSBC system (or equivalent) online banking
  • Strong Purchase ledger Background
  • Experience in a busy Accounts Payable environment
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with high volumes
