Tailor Made are excited to be working with a well-established, dynamic distributor of
They are seeking a Purchase Ledger/Accounts Assistant to join their Accounting Department.
The purpose of the role is to support the Finance Director with the processing of invoice onto the accounting software and the internal system to ensure they are approved daily. You will also be responsible for the reconciling the company Sales Ledger and Credit Card transactions and investigating any discrepancies where transactions are not allocated.
The role requires high attention to detail, good knowledge of excel and the ability to navigate multiple new systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a supportive and growing company that offer realistic career progression.
The Role:
* Manage the processes for overhead invoices, ensuring these are scanned onto the document management system for approval
* Processing high volumes of purchase invoices
* Dealing with supplier queries - telephone and email
* Bank reconciliations
* Assist the purchase ledger manager with payment runs
* Reconciling supplier statements
* Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger accounts by allocating transactions and investigating those which are not allocated
* Support any other finance team members as required and perform any other ad-hoc duties
About you:
* Proficient in the use of IT software including Excel spreadsheets and emails
* Good Knowledge of accounting and purchase ledger
* An understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality
* Excellent communication skills
* Proactive team player who also works effectively on own initiative
* Highly organised and efficient
* IT literate, including competent use of Microsoft Word and Excel (including vlookup and pivot tables)
* Good attention to detail whilst delivering high quality work
