Accounts Assistant | Halifax - covering both sites HX3 6TA and HX3 5AX | Full Time | £25,000-£30,000

Are you the right person for the job?
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Accountancy and basic bookkeeping skills
Computer literacy and a working knowledge of accounting packages and other relevant applications, such as spreadsheets
Solid understanding of financial systems and processes
Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and make recommendations
The ability to function well in a team, as they need to provide support as needed
What will your role look like?
Accurately process sales and purchase invoices, ensuring all entries are recorded correctly and in a timely manner
Perform regular bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and statement reconciliations to ensure our records are up-to-date and accurate
Manage CIS returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
Maintain prepayment and accrual schedules, as well as depreciation schedules, ensuring all records are precise and current
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory accounts, providing valuable insights and support to the finance team
Contribute to cashflow forecasting, helping to ensure the company’s financial health and stability
Prepare and deliver various financial reports as needed, offering data-driven insights to support decision-making
Manage credit control processes to ensure timely payments from clients and maintain healthy cash flow
Set up and manage supplier payment runs, ensuring our suppliers are paid accurately and on time
Handle small purchasing and administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the finance department
