Associate Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist with various accounting functions, including general ledger account review, budget variance analysis, and financial reporting.. The Associate Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial records, supporting departmental expenditure control, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our finance operations.
Key
Responsibilities:
* Review general ledger accounts to explain spend and variances to budget and prior year.
* Liaise with accountants to understand and control departmental expenditure.
* Assist in producing balance sheet reconciliations.
* Support the manufacturing budget process.
* Participate in the costing process and provide coverage for other manufacturing facilities as needed.
* Engage in cost savings programs, meetings, and driving actions.
* Assist in the standard cost setting process.
* Analyze scrap and monitor scrap reduction programs.
* Conduct production variance analysis and bill of material reviews.
* Assist with the stock taking process.
* Participate in external and internal audits.
* Maintain and control fixed assets.
* Assist in VAT data preparation.
* Provide coverage in all areas of Finance as needed.
Qualifications:
* Early CIMA stages - Part Qualified.
* Experience in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines.
* Background in manufacturing preferred.
Skills:
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Strong organizational and planning abilities.
* Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
* Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
* Previous experience with BaaN is a distinct advantage.
* Self-motivated and flexible.
