Edinburgh - min 1 day per week in office




Salary:
From £38,500 plus excellent benefits

Within HR People Services, Payroll are a team of 9 running a monthly payroll to over 5000 UK based permanent colleagues.

We’re a busy and focused team, ensuring the highest standards, risk management and accuracy in all we do. We are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll specialist to lead our operational delivery.

How you’ll make a difference

You will be focussed on brilliant customer service through operational delivery of a compliant end to end payroll as well as driving continuous improvement and efficiency. You will manage payroll queries and escalations to resolution, taking ownership for solutions whilst using your sound judgement and decision-making skills to guarantee the right outcome. Every single colleague in TSB is our customer but excellent relationships need to be maintained with internal and external stakeholders.

A must have for this role is a deep understanding of payroll legislation, knowledge of Tax/NI including associated payments and deductions along with the ability to turn your hand to all manual payroll calculations.

As a key member of the payroll management team, you will be an experienced people manager and have sound leadership skills.

The successful candidate will have experience in change management and payroll system transformation to the Cloud ideally with SAP and Success Factors.

What you’ll bring
  • Strong technical knowledge of payroll running
  • Proven analytical skills including attention to detail and problem solving
  • Experience of working in a highly controlled and regulated environment
  • The ability to assess downstream impact of a requirement or task and think outside payroll parameters
  • Be able to lead on internal governance and oversight of the internal payroll processes, always looking for improvements
  • Developing exception and operational control reports to highlight system or process issues.
  • Performing root cause analysis on issues that arise, ensuring clear findings are communicated and recommendations for improvement are followed up
