Finance Manager

Fixed term until January 2025 with potential to extend or lead to other opportunities

Hybrid working - commutable to Glasgow City Centre - office based 2-3 days per week

What will you be doing?

You will manage the finance ledger team (x4 direct reports) and be responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to weekly payment runs, VAT return checks, balance sheet reconciliation, ledgers, and involvement in internal projects.

It is a broad and wide-ranging role, working closely with key senior stakeholders, driving actions and managing a small team.

You will:

• Ideally be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience in a commercial environment; and in a service industry would be advantageous
• Alternatively, we are open to applications from part qualifed applicants who can demonstrate strong experience within a similar fast paced finance role.
• Have experience of working in a high volume, multi-company environment
• Welcome responsibility and have a proven track record of successfully owning complex and critical processes end to end, pro-actively identifying and resolving issues, enabling cut through
• Be analytically minded, able to grasp the big picture, interpret performance but also have strong attention to detail when required
• Be able to articulate business performance in a concise and logical manner to all stakeholders
• Have a strong record of successfully building relationships, influencing and communicating to Finance and non-Finance colleagues at a senior level
• Demonstrate a strong bias for action - be a confident and energetic person who enjoys operating in a fast-moving environment, who welcomes and embraces change, and has experience of effecting change & continuous improvement
• Have experience of supporting and developing a team
• Advanced Excel, Power BI, and familiarity with accounting packages (Sage) and reporting packages (Hyperion)
