Adviser - Prudential Policy

We are looking for an Adviser to join the Prudential Policy directorate within the Financial Stability Group here at Te Pūtea Matua. Prudential Policy is responsible for developing the policy frameworks, structures and settings that underpin the regulation and supervision of the New Zealand financial system as it relates to banks, non-bank deposit takers (NBDTs), insurers and financial market infrastructure. Prudential policy supports financial stability and helps to maintain public trust and confidence in our financial system. It also reduces the risk of a financial crisis that could seriously damage the economy, and the prosperity and wellbeing of New Zealanders. Ō pūkenga - About youYou're an excellent communicator, with an analytical mind, who has the ability to provide intellectual and organisational leadership to those around you. With your in-depth understanding of policy analysis, you have the ability to scope and lead analysis to support decision-making in novel, ambiguous and complex areas, including where there are no existing frameworks.Adviser, Prudential PolicyThe Adviser, Prudential Policy will undertake a variety of projects that contribute towards the successful delivery of the team's responsibilities. The role will require application of the principles of good regulation in the analysis and development of policy alternatives.You will be working in the Resolution and Recovery Policy team, which has a particular focus on crisis management policy frameworks for the recovery and resolution of distressed financial institutions. The team also deals with policy related to deposit and policyholder protection and is the lead point of contact for the Trans-Tasman Banking Council. As an Adviser, you will have:
* At least 7 years' relevant professional experience in in public policy, regulation, relevant financial services, or a related area.
* A degree in economics, finance, law, or a related discipline.
* A sound track record and experience in leading, delivering on, and contributing to complex policy-related projects, in relevant fields in the public or private sectors.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, tailored for different audiences.
* Experience coaching/managing individuals or small teams
* An in-depth understanding of the New Zealand financial system, desirable but not essential.
