The role/te mahi
Working alongside our experienced Payroll Manager and broader team, this role will be suited to someone with end-to-end payroll experience, including supervising or leading others.
You will enjoy leading a small processing team on a journey to build capability and enhance services. Delivering great customer service, identifying and implementing improvements, communicating with a broad range of stakeholders across the university, in a future focused technology-based environment, are all part of the role.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours), permanent role located in Ōtepoti (Dunedin).
We offer 5 weeks' annual leave, 6.75% superannuation scheme, interesting and challenging work, and the ability to achieve work/life balance.

- Leading and developing a small processing team and supporting the Payroll Manager and Team Leader Input.
- Ensuring the accurate processing of the fortnightly pay cycle, including payday filing and reconciliations.
- Providing expertise and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Identifying opportunities to continuously improve processes and services, including via analysing payroll data.

Key skills required to perform in this role include:
- Strong organisational skills: ability to prioritise and manage work with high attention to detail.
- Proven experience in a busy and/or complex modern payroll environment.
- Sound leadership, change, and continuous improvement experience.
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound analytical skills.
- Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgement always.
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite of programmes.
