The Work You'll Do:

Business analysts are responsible for driving the requirements and delivery of new and/or adaptation of current Sovos offerings for global markets. The role will be measured by delivering high quality, innovative solutions which are adopted by the market and are competitively differentiated. Business analysts will manage timely deliverables with strong communication skills. Success will require closely engaging the Product Development team and Product Manager to define and drive delivery of a product which customers can't imagine how they worked or operated without.

More specifically you will:
  • Create and maintain the relationship between product management and product development
  • Communicate regularly, working alongside Product Management team and Engineers
  • Create and maintain product backlog
  • Participate in daily planning and progress meetings
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of user and compliance requirements
  • Serve as the advocate for the customers to understand their needs and buying behavior to help deliver opportunities for increased sales and strategies to address competition
  • Assist developers and QA members with compliance stories
  • Develop and test solutions, including new and evolving tax forms, that enable clients to use Sovos's VAT forms software and meet their periodic tax compliance needs
  • Document form updates for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with forms researchers, product owners and other colleagues to ensure our compliance solutions are accurate and usable
  • Participate on cross functional teams as needed, and provide subject-matter expertise related to form building in the software
  • Create deliverables that meet customer needs, and are maintainable, supportable, and compliant
  • Actively participate in initiatives to improve processes and procedures
  • Explain complex tax rules in clear language for tax and non-tax professionals both internally and externally

What We Need From You
  • Background and experience in VAT automation and/or VAT reporting software and solutions
  • Having experience in Atlassian Products is a plus (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience in Scrum methodology is a plus
  • Able to effectively manage multiple work assignments and projects
  • Able to successfully troubleshoot and problem-solve with both internal and remote users
  • Interest in researching tax a plus
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong and effective organizational skills
