ABOUT THE ROLE
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the team. Based in Auckland, the key focus of the role is the provision of financial and commercial support and analysis for ASSA ABLOY NZ to ensure the achievement of financial and strategic plans. Further, you will be required to meet all corporate financial reporting deadline as well as local statutory and tax reporting requirements.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the team. Based in Auckland, the key focus of the role is the provision of financial and commercial support and analysis for ASSA ABLOY NZ to ensure the achievement of financial and strategic plans. Further, you will be required to meet all corporate financial reporting deadline as well as local statutory and tax reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Covering intergroup AP function.
- Review AP trial balance monthly and ensure all supplier statements are reconciled.
- Processing weekly/monthly payroll journals.
- Prepare and file indirect taxes (GST, FBT, NRWT and Income Tax)
- Assisting to prepare annual group Statutory Accounts and filing.
- Assisting to prepare company income tax return in conjunction with external taxation advisers.
- Prepare and reconcile fixed assets register.
- Process General Ledger journals as directed.
- IFRS16 lease management.
- Assisting in month end closing activities and financial reporting in HFM.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will be results-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be a team player who proudly boasts accuracy and exceptional attention to detail as a strength. Further, you will have
demonstrated:
- Degree qualified accountant with at least 3 years' experience and working towards Chartered Accountant qualification.
- Strong understanding of corporate reporting deadline.
- Knowledge of tax requirement (Income tax, FBT, GST,etc).
- Able to accurately follow all processes and guidelines.
- Experience working with D365 will be an advantage.
- Self starter with a continuous improvement mindset
