MacKenzie King are working with a successful business, based in Ipswich, who are leaders in their industry. Our client is looking for a confident Credit Controller to join their team for 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will join a supportive team of seasoned credit specialists dealing with high volume, high value clients to reduce aged debt and manage risk.

Duties &


  • Daily monitoring of all accounts
  • Build and maintain customer relationships
  • Chase customers via phone and email to finalise credit terms
  • Ensure collections are in line with HQ requirements
  • Reconciliation of all accounts
  • Proactively chase debt and escalate accounts when necessary
  • Allocate cash in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support the team with daily administration tasks
  • Work collaboratively across the business, working with key Stakeholders
  • Proactively work across the business with Customer Service, Commercial and Sales bringing relevant data to drive improvements

Key Skills & Attributes:
  • Experience in a similar Credit Control role (shipping/haulage experience advantageous)
  • Team player, but also self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
  • Well organised with a thorough and detail orientated approach to tasks.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to be dynamic, adjusting to the needs of the department
  • Ability to recognise potential problems quickly and to implement solutions
  • Conscientious and dynamic decision making
  • Ability to build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good Microsoft Office 365 skills
