Job Details

We are currently looking for a Manager to join our Kantar BrandZ™ team. The ideal candidate will bring a unique blend of interests in financial analysis, market research and branding. The candidate should be an independent self-starter with a proactive attitude who is motivated to excel within an entrepreneurial environment. This position will provide the right candidate with the unique opportunity to grow into an industry expert in a cutting-edge area of brand valuation and to lead regional valuations / rankings.

The person will mainly be responsible for working on the BrandZ™ rankings, a set of very high profile global initiatives, both within Kantar and externally in the Press, that currently include not only the Kantar BrandZ™ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands but also regional valuations / rankings.

Performance Areas

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS


  • Review attribution rates of analyst/senior analyst for brands we value in BrandZ rankings.
  • Manages the web-based valuation system which incorporates the inputs from BrandZ, S&P Capital IQ and Kantar, review those valuations prepared by analyst/senior analyst and should be confident to defend the valuation which would be produced.
  • Review the accuracy and being accountable for validation work of analyst/senior analyst which would contain the justification for change in Financial Value of a brand as well as the latest sector trends/brand news.
  • Review brand valuation universe on what brands to include in/exclude from the ranking.
  • Addresses ad hoc requests and enquiries in relation to the BrandZ rankings from within Kantar, and from clients.
  • Re-engineers and suggest improvements in the valuation as well as the valuation process

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT

  • Communicates with and seek advice from project managers in different time zones if he/she encounters any problems with the information required for the brand valuation
  • Prepares decks for clients to facilitate communication of brand value results.
  • Collates ranking-related data sets for any ad hoc client/media requests.
  • Supports business development initiatives and opportunities resulting from the BrandZ rankings.

  • Develop harmony within team and make sure the workload is fair for the team.
  • Handle difficulties of the team and making sure they share a harmonious and comfortable relationship.

Role Competencies

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS (1) Demonstrates expertise in financial statement analysis (2) Possesses good knowledge in MS Excel (3) Is able to integrate multiple data sources in a brand valuation (4) Shows strong data management and analytical skills (5) is able to

rationalize or challenge the financial analysis previously conducted

VALUATION (1) Is able to manage multiple sources of proprietary data in web-based financial model (2) possesses strong knowledge of valuing a company/brand (3) is prepared to re-engineer and update the existing valuation models

PLANNING & ORGANISING (1) Is able to quickly assimilate information, set priorities and manage workloads in the pre-set timeframe (2) co-ordinates multiple parties, both internally and externally, to gather information necessary for the brand valuation (3) follows through on the whole valuation process meet agreed publication deadlines

PEOPLE (1) Develops day to day working relationships with the Kantar Client Service teams and broader BrandZ team (2) inspires confidence and commitment from others (3) has a positive and professional attitude (4) works in line with agreed ways of working (5) is able to work as part of a wider team or alone with some supervision

GROWTH ORIENTATION (1) Works with the senior team members to identify and convert new business opportunities arising from the BrandZ rankings (2) works with the client services and other client-facing teams to deliver breadth of penetration (up-selling valuations/consulting to achieve greater geographical reach)

Essential Experience

  • Experience within a professional working environment
  • Good degree in accounting/finance with the ability to understand financial statements and annual reports
  • Strong valuation skills
  • Interest in market research

Desirable Expertise

  • Knowledge of excel spreadsheet
  • Master in qualitative desktop research
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong project execution skills

Education

  • Degree subject within Financial/ Accounting
  • MBA (Finance)/CA/ICWA

Languages

  • High degree of fluency (written and spoken) in English
  • Additional European languages an advantage but not necessary
