Payroll specialists are responsible for making sure employees are paid accurately and on time. They manage payroll functions, including calculating employee paychecks, withholding taxes, and any other deductions, as well as maintaining accurate payroll records for businesses, governments, and nonprofit organizations.

  • Process payroll for employees of clients
  • Maintain personnel database regarding salaries.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures which relate to payroll
  • Ensure company stock transactions (ESPP, ISO, NQS RSO) are recorded correctly and appropriately.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual Workers Compensation and 401k reports.
  • Address and resolve employee complaints relating to the payroll system.
  • Work with company database programs to process payroll.
  • Prepare reports to relevant departments about payroll, company budget and
  • Perform month close activities, including posting payroll expense to GL, and monthly reconciliations and correction of GL entries.
  • Perform Quarterly reviews and reconciliations, including local returns and Tax
  • Annual Year-end and W-2 reports review and approvals.
  • Approval and control of all manual payroll checks.
  • State Level and new hire report preparation.
  • Voice calls with state departments.
  • Tax ID registration experience.
  • Notice solving skills (Payroll Tax notice)

  • Bachelor s degree or master s in business or accounting preferred.
  • Proven experience in a payroll position in a fast-paced environment required.
  • 4 plus years of experience predominantly in end-to-end US Payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws.
  • Federal, state and local laws and regulations involving payroll.
  • Working knowledge of ADP / Gusto / QB payroll.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Physically able to work seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time.
