The tax specialist will join the KKR Global Tax team, a world-class team of tax professionals dedicated to supporting KKR's global investment activities. Led by the Global Head of Tax based out of New York, the team encompasses experts in various areas of taxation, including transaction structuring, compliance, and strategic planning. With a global presence and a focus on collaboration, KKR Global Tax plays a pivotal role in guiding the firm's tax strategy and ensuring compliance with tax regulations across jurisdictions. KKR is seeking a tax specialist to join the Global Tax Department in the New York office. The position will be focused on supporting KKR's permanent capital vehicles that own and operate infrastructure and private equity assets. The tax specialist will interface regularly with other members of the senior leadership team by providing creative tax solutions that benefit the business. The tax specialist will work closely with a number of functional groups (e.g., legal, investor relations, finance and accounting, operations, deal teams). The tax specialist must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, presentation skills and time management skills. Specific tax responsibilities will include oversight of tax structuring, planning, compliance (with all applicable federal, state, local, and foreign tax laws and regulations) and reporting. The tax specialist is expected to have deep expertise with all aspects of global tax structuring. In particular, the candidate should be fully informed of trends and developments in global tax matters and to ensure the Firm has proactive tax planning strategies and programs in place.

The ideal individual in this role must possess strong integrity and professionalism. They must be a team player, know how to work independently, and act as a commercial partner to the business.


• Be the central point of coordination for internal and external stakeholders on all tax aspects of KKR's permanent capital vehicles focusing on infrastructure and private equity assets.

• Provide expert tax structuring support to investment teams for potential investment opportunities and divestitures.

• Coordinate with Big 4 firms to ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax filings and reports.

• Responsible for quarterly and annual income tax footnote language and presentation of relevant SEC disclosures (10Q, 10K).

• Stay updated on global tax trends, laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.


• At least ten full years of tax structuring experience at a Big 4 public accounting or law firm.

• Prior in-house experience is a plus.

• Strong academic credentials.

• Deep expertise in tax; thorough knowledge of corporate and partnership, domestic and international taxation.

• Demonstrated track record of providing tax structuring advice on prospective products and transactions to minimize tax leakage and provide optimal structures.

• Must have strong attention to detail and a high standard of excellence.

• Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, with executive presence to advise a range of senior and junior people across the firm.

• Be personable and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Have a positive "can do" attitude to help out wherever needed.

• Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced work environment.
