As the Assistant Finance Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Finance Department, managing financial reporting and managing the performance of the financial department.

Duties include:

  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements for the company and individual projects.
  • Develop, implement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements are met including relevant SARS requirements.
  • Prepare all supporting information for the annual financial audit and liaise with External auditors.
  • Prepare all supporting information for the annual BEE Verification and liaise with Auditors.
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting.
  • Reporting to the holding company.
  • Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
  • Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Assist the Managing Director and the Finance Director with financial reporting as required at Board and Annual General Meetings.
  • Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare the annual budget in consultation with the Managing Director.
  • Monitor risk management policies and procedures and advise on appropriate insurance coverage for the organization and the Board of Directors.
  • Negotiate with Bank for financial services as required and appropriate.
  • Oversee and supervise the administrative function.
  • Oversee the management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments.
  • Monitor all legislation and regulations on professional certification to ensure compliance.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Chartered Accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficient in SAGE and VIP.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
