Our client is one of the UK’s most respected and fastest growing luxury fashion businesses. Operating from its own standalone factory a short walk from Manchester city center, the business is experiencing rapid growth and has ambitions to treble in size over the next 5 years.

The Role:

A highly analytical, and extremely organised Assistant Accountant is required

to join the finance function and work closely with the Finance Manager to assist in the running of the financial accounting function in order to provide timely and accurate financial management reporting and control.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Ensure that the information on the internal accounting system (Xero) is accurate and up to date.
  • Accurately process the purchase ledger invoices including verification against purchase orders and delivery documentation, reconciliation of statements and liaising with Suppliers.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payroll including responsibility for the Weekly Wage Review Meeting and HR Activities within the business.
  • Responsible for raising Wholesale Invoices & Credit Control including liaising with Customers.
  • Prepare Bulk Costing reporting assessing actual cost verses original costings for all styles manufactured and present to Management in the weekly Bulk Costing Review Meeting.
  • Produce management information & reporting i.e. weekly Debtors / Creditors reports etc.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliation on all bank accounts.
  • Responsible for Accounts email Inboxes.
  • Assist in the production and development of the Company's Business Plan and budgets.


What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Relevant education and professional qualifications e.g. A Level’s, AAT or qualified by experience.
  • Have experience of operating payroll.
  • Have strong commercial acumen and excellent analytical, administrative and systems skills (Xero/Galaxius/Shopify etc.) & excel skills (pivot tables etc.).
  • Experience of working with senior management and be happy with the hands-on nature associated with operating in a smaller, entrepreneurial business.
  • Excellent communication skills including tact and diplomacy.
  • Discreet in handling confidential information.
  • Be conscientious, extremely self-motivated, organised and have the ability to plan and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Have the ability to work successfully not only as part of a team but to act on your own initiative and have confidence when liaising at all levels within the organization.
