Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: Payment Management, the successful incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all requests for payments are made and concluded.
Key Performance Areas Capital Payment Management Check and prevent duplicate payments. Implement procedures around the payments to minimise risk areas in the group payment process. Implement processes and procedures for annuity payments. Ensure the implementation of financial management principles and practices within the claims payment process Ensure adherance to effective control measures in the payments process. Aid the creation, maintenance and ownership of the payment timetable and ensure all payments are made in a timely manner. Ensure all payments have been approved in accordance with the segregation matrix prior to sending. Conduct final payment verifications. Implement control systems to monitor and report on payment variances. Provide payment related information to internal stakeholders to aid in query management. Ensure bank attachments are attended, resolved and updated for allocation of heads of damages Ensure payment remittances are generated. Reporting Aid in the development of functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting. Report regularly and periodically perform necessary submissions as and when required to provide progress updates and/ or inform management decisions. Stakeholder Management Aid in proactive and progressive relationships with key stakeholders. Deal with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external stakeholders. People Management Ensure that good employee relations are maintained. Provide ongoing operational support to employees. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's Degree/ Advanced Diploma in Financial Management/ Accounting/ Business Science related qualification. Relevant 4 years' experience in a Capital Payment related environment of which 1 year must have been on a supervisory level. Hands-on experience with accounting software and statistical packages will be an added advantage. Technical and Behavioral Competencies Required Planning, organising and coordinating.
