The purpose of the role will be to manage a part of the finance function from source entries to Trial Balance for various African entities. with a focus on reconciliations between financial, operational, and external financial information. Tax Compliance and provided analysis for budget, forecast and business partner activities. The role will oversee the financial control, ensuring all accounting entries are booked correctly in the General Ledger.

  • Full responsible for ensuring accurate financial record keeping on entities

balance sheet accounts and related income statement accounts
  • Responsible to ensure accurate reconciliations between operational and

accounting systems and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Timely resolution of balance sheet reconciling items
  • Supporting the year-end, interim and all month-end processes and reporting
  • Responsible for supporting FA during the external audit process
  • Provide feedback and address audit points
  • Ensure applicable policies and processes are created, documented, reviewed,

signed off and adhered to
  • Proposing strategies to minimize financial risk
  • Support Financial Manager and Treasury team in monitoring daily cash

balances and determine cash requirements needed
  • Responsible for providing direction and support on the organisational

budgeting process applicable to areas of responsibility
  • Regularly review the overall organisational expenditure to ensure the

expenditure of all entities remain within budget
  • Continued analysis and review of current and new systems
  • Report on and resolve exceptions caused by system errors
  • Action requests from the FM as requested
  • Take responsibility for tax calculations and submissions assigned
  • Accurate Analysis on ad-hoc request
  • Support FP&A on insights.
  • Maintain the intercompany matrix and process foreign currency adjustments.
  • Take responsibility for shared services across the Group.
  • Resolve team queries and provide coaching to junior accountants and accounts

Qualifications andWork Experience
  • BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position if

qualified or 8-10 years if not qualified
  • Previous experience in multinational company will be

  • Good understanding of financial, tax and commercial

legislation across multiple African territories
  • Experience in Accounting Software and Payroll Software

  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Numerical skills
  • High attention to detail (accuracy)
  • Ability to deal with complex information and requests
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
