To implement analytics standards in allocated business units that contribute to the monetisation of data through the development and delivery of advanced mathematical models and business principles. These models find hidden patterns and associations in data to influence business strategy, inform channel design, and predict client behavior.
  • Identify, control, and escalate potential risks that may lead to increased costs.
  • Manage costs or expenses within approved budgets to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Deliver against operational and cost targets.
  • Prioritise resource allocation to minimise and reduce wastage.
  • Provide input into the functional budget.
  • Monitor and report on variances.
  • Minimise expenditure and manage costs.
  • Collate, analyse, and evaluate data to forecast expenditure and cash flow trends, making recommendations to improve the budget.

Build relationships that allow for managing expectations, sharing knowledge and diverse insights, and creating buy-in.
  • Engage in cross-functional relationships to obtain and provide work support.
  • Resolve customer dissatisfaction/complaints by taking ownership of the problem.
  • Analyse customer feedback to help improve customer service.
  • Ensure that delivery is accurate, timely, and of an acceptable standard.
  • Ensure that product or service knowledge and advice are technically accurate.
  • Know and understand customer needs to deliver a quality service.

Take all necessary actions to ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy, and governance requirements in the area of accountability.
  • Ensure implementation of relevant policies, governance, and practice standards across the business.
  • Maintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance is adopted in terms of systems and procedures.
  • Implement and provide input into the development of governance and compliance procedures and processes within the area of specialisation and identify risks.
  • Ensure adoption and localisation of appropriate model-building policies, standards, frameworks, and governance processes.
  • Establish goals and strategies for the area of accountability in collaboration with senior data analytics management.
  • Ensure ethical usage of information that complies with privacy and sensitivity classification restrictions.
  • Understand and ensure implementation and adherence to Privacy business requirements, legislation, and policy.
  • Ensure reporting of any Information Privacy Incidents and drive resolution of Privacy and Protection Audits, findings, complaints, incidents, investigations, and assessments.

Provide and use data and analytic insights to improve the customer experience by better understanding the customer context to identify monetisation opportunities.
  • Manage the analytics team in creating high-quality analyses for all business functions.
  • Create tactical plans for achieving outputs/deliverables in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Drive team performance of analytics solutions; enhance data systems and streamline business processes.
  • Analyse available data to identify unexplored commercialisation opportunities.
  • Ensure analytics productionization in the approved architecture by translating technical data information into practical business information.
  • Analyse information requirements, availability, and quality of data.
  • Oversee data manipulation and analysis to meet business needs and ensure high information quality and reliability.
  • Integrate analytics into operational processes to improve efficiency and client experience.
  • Develop core analytical capabilities or model libraries using advanced statistical, quantitative, or econometric techniques.
  • Manage overall project dependencies and long-term prioritization of the business's analytical needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for analytics, applying understanding of the business's operations.

Define business questions for the Business unit and appropriate analytics models, identifying and readying relevant data sources for analysis.
  • Address business problems and opportunities through robust analytics.
  • Translate business requirements into tangible solutions or models.
  • Ensure accurate development and application of analytical algorithms and methods.
  • Provide requirements to Business Information Management as a Supplier or Owner of Data.

Create team tactical plans for achieving outputs or deliverables in collaboration with Technology stakeholders.
  • Ensure governance and compliance rules are followed in applying predictive models.
  • Maintain ownership and oversee model implementation.
  • Monitor model output and accuracy.
  • Ensure documentation and auditing of relevant models, projects, and processes.
  • Enable the business unit to understand its health, find growth levers, and identify optimization opportunities.

Create new data-driven approaches for generating business insights through data analytics, information visualization, and proactively addressing business issues.
  • Ensure validation and interpretation of analytical results, and creation of reports and presentations for data analytics management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with departments across the business to assist in the proper use of data.
  • Model and drive a data-driven culture that values data as an asset.
  • Lead relevant change and communication functions to drive functional maturity.
  • Identify training/development needs and effective solutions for development gaps.
  • Ensure employees prepare personal development plans and oversee implementation.
  • Create an environment conducive to cross-functional skills transfer.
  • Plan training interventions that support strategies.
  • Understand required competencies and skills for personal and employee development and performance.
  • Keep abreast of learning opportunities, changing products, and trends.
  • Manage team recruitment, performance, talent management, disciplinary actions, recognition, and retention.
