ECD plays a critical role as it adds value to Bain's case teams globally by supporting them with analytics and research solutioning across all industries, specific domains for corporate cases, client development, private equity diligence or Bain intellectual property. The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.

Who you will work with:

The Reporting & Analytics Sr. Associate (GCO) position is based in BCN's Gurgaon office and is an integral part of the global PPK team. The team-let is responsible to support Global Commercial Operations (GCO) team with its mission to take firm's commercial operations capabilities to the next level, with the ambition of raising partner productivity and transforming how Bain creates and captures demand for its products and sells impactful, scale engagements at its most important clients.

The individual will be responsible for will develop analytical models and providing solutions using automation and data visualization tools (e.g. Alteryx and Tableau). These solutions will help the firm enhance commercial excellence, commercial decision making, time allocation, priority client identification and other key commercial processes. Through these processes, key stakeholders and firm leaders will be able to make informed strategic and operational decisions more efficiently.

The role is highly analytic and requires comfort with (and interest in) manipulating and pulling insights from complex data sets, applying machine learning models, and creating compelling Tableau visualizations. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Global Commercial Operations and will collaborate closely with the reporting and analytics team in India.

About you

Education

Required: First class undergraduate from leading and reputed colleges with 4-6 years of relevant work experience

Preferred: Post-graduate from a top-tier institute/university with strong academic records with 3-5 years' experience

Experience

Required: 4-6 years (graduates) of relevant experience working with large, multi-dimensional data sets and developing different types of visualizations

Preferred: 3-5 year (post-graduates) of experience working with large, multi-national organization in business analyst role

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:
  • Strong proficiency with Tableau and Alteryx
  • Experience with data science packages in R (and ideally Python)
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint required as well as passion for automation of processes/reporting using these tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; enthusiastic team player
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional, mature manner
  • Ability to liaise effectively between finance/business groups and Systems team

Preferred:
  • Ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple competing priorities and drive projects to completion under tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing fast-paced business environment
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with expertise in machine learning models; demonstrated ability to derive insights from complex data and produce compelling data visualizations.

What you'll do:
  • Application of Data Visualization and Data Analysis (EDA) tools like Alteryx, Tableau, etc. to support a range of industry and capability Practice areas with analysis of KPIs and development of commercial dashboards based on Bain data sources and processes.
  • Problem solving: Sr. Associate is responsible to use answer-first approach to develop the work plan for tackling the problems w.r.t. development or any new analysis, proficiently manage own work-plan, generate next steps and generates high quality, zero-defect outputs.
  • They need to provide high impact support to stakeholders by demonstrating ability to work closely with them and translate user requirements into required output, and perform recurring tasks independently.
  • Engage with commercial operations leadership to understand Bain's commercial strategy and business questions and proactively construct analyses to help answer those questions.
  • The person should be a motivated and collaborative team player, who is a role-model and at-cause individual within the team and office.

Applies and builds technical expertise of Data Visualization and Data Analysis (EDA) tools like R, Python, Alteryx, Tableau, etc. - 60% of time
  • Building new workflows and dashboards using Alteryx (or other EDA tools) and Tableau (or other visualization tools) respectively
  • Refreshing and maintaining dashboards on Tableau, along with optimization of Alteryx workflow
  • Knowledge of revenue, pipeline and other Bain data sources for getting the job done

Problem solving - 20% of time
  • Uses answer-first approach to frame the problem, manage the work and define next steps
  • Applies business judgment and appropriate prioritization
