Payroll Officer

New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural sectors. You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL brand.

What you will be doing

Due to a well-deserved career change, a fantastic opportunity to join the New Zealand Steel Payroll Team based at Glenbrook is now available. While reporting to our Payroll Supervisor, you will be joining a fun, hardworking and supportive payroll team.

In this position you will play a key role in the delivery of six major payrolls for New Zealand Steel & Pacific Steel NZ you will also be assisting with invoices and employee recognition.

Working with both our People & Payroll Team colleagues and our Payroll Provider, your key responsibilities will include setting up new employees on the payroll and SAP systems, employee file maintenance, payroll processing, reporting and other payroll duties. We also have an exciting Time & Attendance implementation project to get underway.

What you will bring to the role

You will need to have a minimum of at least one year experience in dedicated payroll and/or accounts support roles. Hands-on experience working with a NZ based Payroll platform is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

This role will be suited to someone with excellent attention to detail and solid analytical skills, of course, a sense of fun and a can-do positive attitude will be welcomed.

This is a permanent Monday to Friday role working 40 hours per week.
