Job Vacancy: Service Charge Specialist

Location:
Houghton Regis and Bedfordshire - Hybrid workingSchedule: 5 days/week, 7hrs/dayBasic DBS is required.Role Purpose:As a Service Charge Specialist, you will work closely with the Service Charge Area Manager to handle customer enquiries and complaints. This role is not a Service Charge accountant position, rather focusing on providing support and guidance regarding service charges and general housing management.Key

Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy and transparency of rent review, service charge estimates, and expenditure summaries.- Provide guidance and advice to colleagues on rents, service charges, and general management.- Deliver excellent customer service by resolving enquiries and complaints promptly and efficiently.- Analyse expenditure and forecast future costs, identifying areas where costs cannot be recovered.- Contribute to the creation of tenancy and lease terms by providing accurate information on rent and service charge calculations.Success Metrics:- Deliver exceptional service to customers by assisting with the preparation of new scheme estimates, auditing, and summaries of expenditure.- Provide 'First Point of Contact' resolution to customers by offering advice on rent and service charge enquiries.- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely resolution of rent and service charge disputes, queries, and complaints.About You:You will:- Work collaboratively with all parts of the business, knowing when to support and when to push back.- Be adaptable to change and responsive to evolving customer needs.- Demonstrate a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.- Hold a professional qualification (e.g., CIH, IRPM) or possess considerable experience in service charge settings within a Registered Provider environment.- Have a sound knowledge of Service Charge Legislation and best practice.- Exhibit excellent communication, numeracy, and IT skills.- Be personable, proactive, and committed to exceptional customer care.If you're ready to make a difference in the lives of our customers and contribute to Peabody's mission of delivering outstanding service, we want to hear from you.How to Apply:To apply for this position, please submit your CV outlining your relevant experience and why you're the perfect fit for this role.
