The Junior Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing transactions, maintaining an accurate set of books, and assisting in the preparation of financial records. This role requires a high degree of accuracy and an ability to work closely with the finance team to ensure financial compliance and efficiency within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing of supplier invoices and ensuring creditor accounts are up to date through maintaining good health of supplier ageing.
  • Generation of sales invoices with focus on collection of debtors through weekly monitoring of customer ageing.
  • Daily capturing of bank account and month end bank reconciliations.
  • Loading of accurate payments on banking platform for the month end payment run and, on an ad-hoc basis as required.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records by entering data into our accounting software.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are executed in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Work closely with the finance team to streamline finance functions and improve financial processes.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and answering queries.
  • Monitor and record company expenditures, ensuring they are authorized and properly documented.
  • Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements related to financial management and accounting.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a role that involves accounting or financial reporting.

Skills & Competencies (Personal & interpersonal)
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage X3 desired but not required).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
