About us | Ko wai mātou

Fonterra's Mergers & Acquisition team is responsible for assisting in the execution of Fonterra's strategy, through mergers and acquisitions, divestments, and partnerships.

About the opportunity | Te whiwhinga mahi

This is a senior position which will play a key role alongside the Director Capital Markets and M&A in identifying opportunities for value creation through acquiring or divesting assets, executing any transactions effectively and efficiently and assisting Fonterra to extract value from any investments.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Coaching and developing more junior team members
  • Co-ordinating due diligence across relevant internal and external experts
  • Evaluating and executing any investment opportunities
  • Leading cross-functional teams in transaction execution workstreams
  • Providing high-quality, trusted valuation and transaction advice
  • Playing a primary role in negotiation, structuring and deal execution
  • Leadership and/or key support role in M&A activities, throughout the M&A lifecycle

The role requires thought leadership and influence, working with the most senior managers of the business globally and working with a wide range of stakeholders.

About you | Ko wai koe

With a background in finance, economics, commerce or law, you will have extensive deals and transaction experience across M&A, Transactions Services, Corporate Finance and Valuation.

You'll be an experienced leader, a savvy communicator with transaction experience in specifically in a "Big Four", investment banking, private equity, or in-house corporate team.

With a grounding in strategic, financial analysis and commercial decision-making you are comfortable in collaborating with Senior Leadership within a complex business structure and providing deep subject matter expertise as part of our in-house Mergers & Acquisitions team

Experience in large, enterprise-level projects with a solid understanding and management of risk and dependencies will be highly desirable.
