The Company

My client is a privately owned NZ business with a well known brand name in the FMCG sector. The company has been operating for 40+ years and has its manufacturing operations in NZ. The business is circa 200 staff and is now looking for a Financial Controller to join the finance team, reporting to the CFO with a team of 5 direct reports and a very broad Controllership role.

The Role

This role is very broad and really will suit someone that really wants to grab it and make it their own. The core responsibilities will include:

· Business Partnering Department heads including Sales, operations & production to drive insights and enable decision making for effective financial stewardship.

· Be proactively involved in pricing and product costing to ensure effective margin and profitability management

· Ownership of monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentary thereon.

· Preparation of Annual Statutory accounts and the annual audit process

· Driving budgeting and forecasting process

· Cashflow management

· Leadership of the finance team, developing and mentoring the team

· Ensuring tax and regulatory reporting requirements are met

· Continuous improvement focus on processes and internal controls

· Ensure insurances are managed effectively

· Other ad hoc duties as required.

Your profile:

To be considered for this role, we are looking for a CA qualified Accountant. You will either be operating at the Financial Controller level already or be looking for the next step in your career to this level. Your key attributes will include:

  • Preferably manufacturing or inventory experience

  • Strong all round accounting skills - including both financial and management accounting capabilities
