Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying, and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures, and markets.?
Operations Transformation partners with Operations users, Technology and Business stakeholders to deliver strategic transformation initiatives.
Growth in business volume and process complexity has led to increased manual processing and a need to coordinate tasks more efficiently across teams. As a result, Operations has initiated a multi-year journey to standardize and automate workflow at scale.
The team supports the Governance and Control pillar which is focused on ensuring that the organization achieves our Transformation targets for 2024.
Operations have set a division-wide target for capacity creation in 2024.
The main focus of the role will be to operationalize the tool and process and facilitate the flow of opportunities along the solution lifecycle, specifically:
- Collaborate with Global Operations and the Transformation tool product owners to review and assess opportunities for solutions
- Engage with key points of contact within the Operations organization to provide transparency and visibility into progress of their teams vs targets
- Partner with the Risk organization to ensure that the solutions appropriately consider impact to any risks to the process from implementing new solutions.
As it is a new tool and process, a transformative mindset is critical to ensure that the process is efficient and effective in achieving the division-wide outcomes for capacity creation, risk and client service.
This is a new requisition for a Vice President located in Mumbai in our established team to drive the Central Transformation strategy globally, but also focused on the APAC region. The VP will have responsibility for local and functional management of a combination of full-time employees and consultants.
Skills Required
Project Management certification
14 years of professional experience in banking and financial services (preferred in capital markets)
Ability to act as a bridge between multiple Operations and technology areas
Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring un-focused issues to resolution
Ability to work in a team environment, build and maintain a network of contacts, and coordinate with a large number of stakeholders across the business and technology
Experience operating in a team across multiple global sites to deliver operational excellence
Demonstrate initiative, judgment and decision making
Experience with business process improvement initiatives and strong grasp of concepts to drive Operational Excellence (e.g. Root Cause Problem Solving, deep-dive process mapping and discovery)
Evidence of participation in change management and continuous development projects within a complex global organization, preferably Financial Services
Ability to act as a bridge between multiple Operations and Technology areas
Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring un-focused issues to resolution
Ability to multitask and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
Excellent written/verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and strong presentation / training skills for interacting with colleagues, departmental management in a cross-divisional setting
Strong business analysis and business process management skills (e.g. defining a new process, executing the process, focusing on continuous improvement)
Able to operate independently and confidently in dealing with varied stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Self-confident/motivated in achieving business outcomes in collaborative team settings and through virtual work with teams in multiple locations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Power BI
