What you will be doing

•Manages the preparation and filing of government required filings (mainly tax returns), including liaising between the accounting team and external advisers.
• Help obtain data to provide to external advisers.
• Proactively share information about payments and filings with the accounting team to ensure the correct postings take place.
• Reconciles and year-end balances and helps recover any tax over-payments.
• Arranges payment of direct tax liabilities, including seeking appropriate approvals, and liaising with accounting and treasury to ensure payments happen on time, with a key objective of minimising interest charges on late payments and under-payments.
• Manages engagement administration with external advisers, including billing, invoice coding and engagement letters.
• Assists with tax audits where required.
• Other related duties assigned as needed

What you Bring:

• Administrative and organisational skills are of key importance, including the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of local income tax concepts, practices and procedures would be desirable but not essential.
• Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner
• Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools
• Analytical and statistical examination skills
• Ability to understand and apply learned concepts
• Attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality
• Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical deadlines are met
• Ability to create spreadsheets and demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Tax knowledge is desirable but not required.

Developing professional role requiring basic skills with a moderate level of proficiency. Performs discrete tasks working under close to moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment and ability to overcome minor obstacles while communicating problem areas to others. Consults with senior peers with goal of continually building knowledge/experience while minimizing any risk. This role is focused on learning to apply standards, developing an understanding of the business, and advancing personal professional growth through certifications and tailored goal setting. The position nonetheless exercises delegated authority to make and implement decisions having broad implications to the business. Typically requires up to three years professional tax experience filing returns in multi-state locations.
