The opportunity:

Are you ready to shape the future of one of New Zealand's leading insurance providers? As a Strategy Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing our strategic vision, collaborating across divisions to drive initiatives that propel us towards our goals.

Your insights will guide our Board and Executive Team, ensuring informed decisions in a dynamic regulatory landscape. This is your chance to influence and lead strategic endeavours that redefine the industry landscape.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Facilitating strategic discussions with business units to foster development of their strategies
  • Assisting in preparing and facilitating business cases and analysis for strategic initiatives
  • Identifying, sourcing, coordinating, consolidating, and analysing competitive and market information
  • Presenting on market trends and competitor information at all levels of the organisation, in a variety of situations
  • Completing various desktop and market-based research assignments and analyses
  • Delivering regular reporting on AIA's operating environment
  • Providing support and insight to the annual planning process for AIA, and offering input to the annual and three-year financial plan
  • Developing and maintaining a strong working knowledge of the external operating environment, including the economy, competitors, and digital.

Ideally, you'll bring:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for distilling complex concepts into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong analytical prowess, coupled with financial acumen and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven experience in strategy development, implementation, and business case creation
  • The confidence to engage with senior management, offering constructive feedback and driving change where needed
  • A track record of making critical decisions under pressure, managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Prior experience in the financial services sector, preferably with insurance exposure.
