About the role

We have an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Management Accountant to join our Finance team based in Auckland. Reporting to an experienced Financial Controller, the ideal candidate will play a key role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, providing valuable insights to drive strategic decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare and analysis of monthly management accounts including variance analysis and commentary
  • Provide the senior leadership team with financial tracking & margin analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand business operations and support cost control initiatives.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Ensuring timely preparation, review, and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements and schedules for the overseas corporate head office.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliation, investigate and resolve any issues arise.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, experienced with strong management accounting, financial analysis, and modeling skills. Along with this, you will also have:
  • Proven experience as Management accountant or similar role, ideally in manufacturing, import and distribution or similar industryworking in a large, complex commercial organization as part of large global group / listed corporation is preferred.
  • CPA, CA or similar professional qualifications
  • The ability to work under pressure with little supervision to meet deadlines, set priorities, and meet the requirements of a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial modelling.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle) and process improvement.
