Job Description:

Under general direction, performs cost accounting duties of a complex nature requiring advanced professional experience and knowledge in cost accounting principles and practices.

Responsible for leading the more complex cost analysis and audits. Works with broad discretion as to work details on assignments of a varied and diverse nature. Prepares specialized reports and analyses. Develops and analyzes information to compare budgets to actual expenses. Prepares complex reports and analyzes inventory fluctuations. Provides work leadership to lower level accounting personnel on complex assignments or projects. Develops and installs difficult cost accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls. Provides interpretation of accounts and methods for managers. May recommend prices for new services or products through analysis of unit costs and projection of expenses. May act as Unit Cost Accountant for a satellite operation or small entity of the corporation.

The Compensation range for this position is approximately $75k - $113k and will be based on the candidate's qualification, experience, and education.

Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 5 years related experience.

Requires broad knowledge of cost control systems and related cost accounting functions and includes the preparation of strategic recommendations to management. Requires advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices. Ability to provide work direction to team members. Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Requires expertise in Microsoft Office.
