*Overview*
PEA Group is growing and we are looking for talented individuals to join our team! We are searching for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. This roles provides an opportunity to grow within the Accounting Department with added responsibilities.

The Staff Accountant provides support to the accounting department by managing daily accounting tasks. This position is responsible for compiling reports and preparing, maintaining, and reconciling financial documents.

*Responsibilities*

* Maintains accounts receivable, creates invoices and supporting documentation.
* Communicates effectively with project managers while reviewing/finalizing project invoices.
* Prepares monthly client statements.
* Communicates with clients on outstanding invoices and follows up as required.
* Compiles project status reports.
* Assists in accounts payable and perform reconciliations as needed.
* Assists with review and verification of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
* Updates financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
* Prepares and submit weekly/monthly reports.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

*Qualifications*
*Formal Education, Licenses and Certifications*

* BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field

Knowledge and Experience*

* 1-3 years of relevant experience.
* Proficient in Excel and Word.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Tech savvy- well informed about technology solutions that can expedite processes.
* Experience and proficiency using Deltek Products/Vantagepoint or a similar project-based accounting software a plus.
* Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
* Thorough knowledge of applicable payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.

Physical Demands*
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely a sedentary role: however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Availability*
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel*
No travel is expected for this position.
