Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be exclusively working on this Head of Finance role based in east Birmingham. As the Head of Finance, you will play a crucial role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic initiatives specifically within operations and sales across the entire group. You will work closely with senior leadership, providing insights and analysis to guide decision-making, optimise resource allocation, and drive business growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to the continued success of this well-known organisation.

Key Responsibilities

This Head of Finance role will be responsible for the following:
  • Provide financial leadership and strategic direction to support operations and sales leaders in achieving business objectives.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to analyse and improve the performance, supply chain efficiency, and overall productivity of business units.
  • Develop and implement financial plans, forecasts, and budgets to support the company's strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance metrics.
  • Manage and mentor one member of staff within the finance department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Evaluate and optimise financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate for this role will have:
  • Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business leaders to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organisation.
