Role Details
We are looking for a Financial Accountant

Who are we?

Ki is the biggest global insurance tech company you`ve never heard of, unless you`ve been looking to insure a satellite, wind farm or music festival recently.

Having written over $877m in gross written premium in 2023, we`ve achieved significant growth since our beginnings in 2021. Our investors were excited about the fact we were revolutionising the way a 333 year-old industry was working. There are hardly any industries left that are mainly paper based, but the specialty insurance market is one. Together with partners at Google and UCL we developed Ki and created a platform that helps insurance brokers place risk in a fast and frictionless way. We`re continuing to lead the charge on the digitisation of this market and we need more excellent minds to work with us to realise this goal and create more opportunities.

The day to day

To manage the day-to-day activities of the Ki external reporting team, with primary focus on monthly and quarterly close and reporting internally and to Group, and annual statutory accounts. This covers both individual legal entities and consolidated results. The role includes coordination with the Ki Regulatory Reporting team and IFRS 17 reporting teams, while collaborating with teams across Ki Finance. It also requires provision of technical knowledge, advice, and expertise on all areas of Financial Accounting to the business (UK GAAP, IFRS4, IFRS17, Solvency II and Regulatory Reporting).

About you

You'll be a Qualified Accountant with knowledge of general, commercial insurance industry practices and policies, with a track record of delivering high-quality products to tight deadlines.

The following attributes will also assist you in being hugely successful in this role:

• Good technical knowledge and practical experience of interpreting and applying International
Financial Reporting Standards and UK GAAP. (Specific experience of IFRS 17 is valuable).
• Excel functionality to an advanced user level.
• Good knowledge of data, including data management, analysis, interrogation, and validation.
• Knowledge of the operation of financial systems, preferably including Great Plains, PowerPivot and Power Query.
• Effective prioritisation and organisational skills, whilst also being able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.

Our culture

This opportunity comes along with a competitive salary, 27 days annual leave, optional private medical insurance, on target bonus and strong employer`s contributory pension, plus many more benefits. We also operate in a hybrid working capacity meaning you can collaborate in the London office as well as enjoy the ability to work from home.

Inclusion & Diversity is at the heart of our business at Ki. We recognise that diversity in age, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability, thought, and social background bring richness to our working environment. No matter who you are, where you`re from, how you think, or who you love, we believe you should be you.
You`ll get a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package. This is kept under constant review to make sure it stays relevant. We understand the power of saying thank you and take time to acknowledge and reward extraordinary effort by teams or individuals. If this sounds like a role and a culture that appeals to you, let us know. Apply now!
