Role: National Account Manager / Senior Account Manager


Location:
Battersea, Greater London (plus multi-site cover)


Salary:
£30,000 - £40,000 per annum

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS
Full UK Driving Licence and Own Vehicle - Essential
For insurance purposes;
Must be at least 18 years old

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
Requires a minimum of 2 years experience in a senior account management role
Must have experience within the FMCG industry, preferably fresh food
Requires experience managing national contract caterers, hotels, and restaurant groups
Strong sales and account management experience is required
Preferably offers experience working for a large wholesaler across multiple sites
Should have a strong understanding of multi-temperature and multi-site distribution
Requires experience working with profit and loss, budget allocation, and cost control
Must have proven experience of cultivating and managing professional relationships
Experience within a business development role is highly advantageous
Must be confident liaising with internal and external parties at all levels

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
◾ Effectively developing and growing client relations across a multi-site business
◾ Delivering excellent service and account management support to clients
◾ Providing line management support to a team of Account Managers as required
◾ Monitoring the performance of the team against the company’s strategic objectives
◾ Identifying and delivering development plans for individual Account Managers
◾ Managing an existing customer portfolio of local, regional, and national accounts
◾ Working closely with a team of Account Managers to increase company profitability
◾ Maximising on future performance through the implementation, monitoring, reporting, and forecasting of account performance against sales budget and cash margin
◾ Liaising with other departments to ensure accurate sales and margin forecasts
◾ Supporting with the onboarding of new clients, as well as growing existing accounts
◾ Heavily involved in weekly and monthly team and departmental meetings
◾ Managing the tendering process from start to finish to meet set requirements
◾ Introducing and negotiating new contracts, and renewing existing contracts in advance
◾ Maximising on commercial performance and client satisfaction by delivering on KPIs
◾ Producing annual reports with clear objectives, goals, strategies, and measures
◾ Creating joining business plans including budget and forecast reports
◾ Supporting with the creation, planning, and implementation of new products
◾ Generating new listings, product codes, and lead times, plus production management
◾ Working closely with other departments to develop and improve retention strategies
◾ Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and generate new business
◾ Collaboratively generating specific account plans to grow accounts with minimal risk
◾ Effectively identifying and planning for business continuity and recovery requirements
◾ Leading the strategic account planning process and annual commercial planning cycle
◾ Performing annual budget reviews to develop and maintain profitability of accounts
