A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Operations Specialist to join the friendly and highly motivated Operational Support Cards Team based at our North Wharf, Wynyard Quarter Head Office on a fixed term basis. This back-office support position will see you responsible for a range of functions to ensure the smooth running of the Cards area.

Mo te tūranga | About the role:

We are looking for someone who is capable of leading our team on projects that support improving business outcomes and ensure regulatory compliance requirements are met.
  • Map processes, evaluate performance and test new systems functionality (UAT, systems etc)
  • Supporting your manager with projects, continuous improvement culture and capabilities within your team (i.e. lean, agile, DMAIC, human centred design and data analysis/ decision making)
  • Supporting team capability build through sharing end to end process knowledge, developing and delivering training as required
  • Support the continuous evolution towards automation, building complimentary human and digital capabilities through initiative execution
  • Support my manager in developing effective business plans, governance, capabilities, and culture within your team
  • Act as a reference/ delegation point for project/ case/issue/complaint escalation that require domain expertise

We are ideally looking for someone who has 3-5 years Issuing & Acquiring customer/operations experience in banking/financial services/shared services/technology along with good understanding of operations management frameworks, methodologies and practices.

As a Specialist, you will be responsible for providing strong domain expertise (product, process, systems and risk) to support your manager drive strong business performance. Apart from this, demonstrating sound judgment and decision making in balancing service, business, policy, and risk considerations is a must.

You will also have:
  • Manage risks to ensure compliance with legislation and Bank policies and practices and that the business is well protected through robust controls, testing and reporting capabilities
  • Sound problem solving and data analysis skills; good data-based decision making
  • Ability to identify opportunities for value creation, development of execution plans and follow throughs
  • Strong stakeholder/ relationship management and communication skills
  • Be a self-starter, proactive contributor and someone who enjoys accountability and collaborates effectively
