Our client in the Automotive Industry is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team in Coega. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing cost standards for BOM materials and labour.
  • Monitoring unit cost variance Implementing cost accounting systems.
  • Analysing production costs and recommending changes
  • Analysing manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization.
  • Performing month-end cost accounting close
  • Maintaining financial & cost accounting system and ledger
  • Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock.
  • Performing life cycle cost-benefit analysis.
  • Preparing cost of goods sold and production reports.
  • Perform annual physical inventory.
  • Analysing inventory valuations.
  • Prepare financial management report.
  • Participate in the development, documentation, and implementation of standard work processes.
  • Maintains and ensures data accuracy in the ERP system through proper item set-up, manufacturing accounting review and issue resolution.
  • Training and supervising cost and inventory accounting staff.
  • Supervision of bookkeeper.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Creditors and Debtors functions, including.
  • Processing of invoices.
  • Reconciliation of creditors accounts to statements.
  • Preparation and payment of creditors.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, including.
  • Processing of invoices.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree in Cost & Management Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years' Experience as a cost accountant or in a similar position.
  • Deep knowledge of standard costing and other cost modelling
  • Knowledge in SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft
  • Office, Word, Excel, PPT
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
