We're currently looking for a Commercial Manager to join us. You'll partner with our Motors and Jobs stakeholders to bring clarity and problem solving to business opportunities and challenges, challenge stakeholders to stay focussed on creating business and customer value and proactively drive towards successful outcomes. We're after someone who is naturally curious, commercially astute and comfortable partnering with stakeholders of all levels to lead and drive the delivery of commercially significant activities (including the annual budgeting process, B2B pricing recommendations and M&A projects).

Here's what you can expect from this role:
  • Provide leadership, guidance, training and coaching to the Commercial Analyst, and the wider Commercial team
  • Support and collaborate with key stakeholders on critical projects by providing commercial input and analysis
  • Lead, drive and deliver the quarterly forecasting and annual budget across all functions of your portfolio. This will mean working with, leading and coaching, the Commercial Analyst to undertake assumption gathering, modelling new initiatives, preparing presentations for the SLT and Exec, and being a key contributor to challenge sessions.
  • Coordinate and deliver our monthly board reporting process
  • Monitor KPIs and diagnose variances to expectation, working with stakeholders to develop effective action plans to correct unfavourable trends across Revenue, Costs, Audience and Inventory
  • Be the 'champion' of the key commercial targets / outcome / OKRs. This will mean using data and insights gleaned from reporting (i.e weekly forecasts, monthly FinOps etc.) or from conversations with your Business Portfolio teams, to identify growth or cost/efficiency opportunity areas, and then working cross-functionally with your Business Portfolio Product, Marketing and Sales teams to build and drive commercially focused action plans to achieve or exceed these targets.
  • Provide financial modelling expertise to support your Business Portfolio functions
  • Work closely with the Head of Commercial & Strategy and M&A Director to identify and size and execute M&A opportunities for your Business Portfolio
  • Provide negotiation, modelling and other support for commercial negotiations with partners or suppliers.

What you will bring to our team:

Experience:
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce preferred (qualified Accountant a plus)
  • 7+ years experience in commercial environments
  • Worked, or keenly interested in, technology or ecommerce a major plus
  • Experience leading, coaching or managing direct reports
  • Experience in Planning/Reporting software and Excel, with experience in BI tools such as Power BI a plus
  • Proven experience in researching, business casing and strategy development
  • Experience in software pricing & packaging

  • Curious, analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills and commercial acumen
  • A track record of delivering impactful commercial outcomes
  • Tangible examples of critical thinking and problem solving to unlock business value
  • Comfort partnering with Senior Stakeholders including providing constructive challenge of thinking and approach
  • Strong numerical, analytical and modelling skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in presenting to senior management and Exec a must
